The HiTOPS Trans Youth Forum (TYF) is the only event of its kind, created by and for transgender, nonbinary, and otherwise gender expansive young people. The HiTOPS Trans Youth Advisory Board (TYAB) Ambassadors work together with the HiTOPS staff to plan and lead the yearly forum as well as other events throughout the year.
What does it mean to be an Ambassador on the HiTOPS Trans Youth Advisory Board?
TYAB Ambassadors are a group of motivated trans, nonbinary, and gender expansive youth ages 11 – 24, who will come together to promote mutual understanding, increase leadership skills, and prepare to make a difference in their communities.
Through in-person and virtual meetings, TYAB Ambassadors will participate in forums, conferences, outreach, leadership, and volunteer opportunities all while being mentored by HiTOPS Staff.
TYAB Ambassadors
- participate in weekly discussions to shape all aspects of the event, including the annual TYF theme, the panel of speakers, event activities, and more!
- effectively communicate and present their ideas, views, and opinions to others.
- develop their passion, enthusiasm, and commitment to supporting all LGBTQ+ young people in their journey.
- have their voices amplified by supporting one another and allowing their stories to motivate to create safe, inclusive spaces for all to thrive.
- hold this position from November – July.
📢 AS A TYAB AMBASSADOR, YOU ARE REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE TRANS YOUTH FORUM AND AT LEAST 2 OTHER EVENTS.
There will be a stipend presented to each Ambassador who completes their required responsibilities.
Applications for the 2023-2024 Cohort will open in October 2023.
