Response to Trump Executive Order on Gender Designation

We at HiTOPS are outraged and broken-hearted at Trump’s Executive Order that heartlessly denies trans and gender non-conforming people their humanity.
We do not know when Trump’s actions will go into effect, how far-reaching they will actually be, or how specifically they will impact folks living in NJ. What we do know is that hard won rights and protections against legal discrimination are now in jeopardy.
Now is the time to be vigilant. Educate yourself. Show you care. Get organized.
- Reach out to a young person and offer support, care and reassurance that you stand with them! Refer them to HiTOPS for information on support groups, our after-school drop in center, and other programs and service for queer young folks and their families.
