What does it mean to be a YAS Leader?
YAS Leaders work together in dedicated volunteer projects, as a team, to help create an affirming and inclusive environment for all LGBTQ+ young people. YAS Leaders take pride in being part of the creative process which will give them the opportunity to demonstrate their own leadership abilities. YAS Leaders lead by example, create a space where open and productive communication is encouraged, can set goals, and encourage constructive feedback from all team members. This process prepares the next generation of diverse leaders for greater community engagement.
📢 AS A YAS LEADER, YOU ARE REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE IN CAREER DAY, MONTHLY CLOSET POP-UPS, QUEER PROM, AND AT LEAST 1 OTHER EVENT IN THE MONTH OF JUNE (PRIDE EVENT)
Meetings will be held one to two times a month, virtually. All events will be in person. We will have a celebratory dinner in June ❤
*If all criteria are met by June, you will receive a Certificate in Leadership to help with resume building for colleges and the workplace.
