In a partnership with Independent Lens, OVEE, PBS/WHYY and Psychology Today, HiTOPS is presenting an exclusive opportunity to pre-screen this acclaimed and powerful documentary film before it is released to the general public in June.

Real Boy is the coming-of-age story of Bennett, a trans teenager with dreams of musical stardom. During the first two years of his gender transition, as Bennett works to repair a strained relationship with his family, he is taken under the wing of his friend and musical hero, celebrated trans folk singer Joe Stevens.

Following the film, there will be an interactive virtual dialog with experts, facilitated by Psychology Today, and including the filmmaker, discussing the film in real time.
